Hello! I'm Brittany,
Director of Lux Vox
My name is Brittany Clark, and I am the founder of BC Music and the Lux Vox: Metro East Children's Chorus. I earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, before completing my Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy, the study of teaching singing, at the University of Central Oklahoma. For the past 17 years, I have directed children's choirs and taught music in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Oklahoma through public schools, private studios, churches, and community music programs. My fiancé and I own BC Music, a private music studio in Midwest City where we are passionate about providing high-quality music education close to home. I started Lux Vox after hearing students express how disappointed they were that they would no longer have the opportunity to sing in a school choir. Music education changed my life by teaching me discipline, perseverance, confidence, and joy, and I knew I couldn't let those opportunities disappear for local children. If your child is looking for community, musical growth, meaningful challenges, or simply a place where they can belong, Lux Vox is for them. They will arrive as singers and leave as musicians.
Common Questions
What kind of music will my child be learning?
At Lux Vox, singers will explore a wide variety of choral music, including classical, contemporary classical, folk, spirituals, musical theater, pop, world music, and other outstanding repertoire. Through this diverse literature, students will develop strong vocal technique, musical literacy, and an appreciation for the many styles and traditions of choral music.
Why do we have choral fees? What do they cover?
Like all quality choral programs, Lux Vox charges tuition to help cover the costs of operating the ensemble, including insurance, music scores, rehearsal materials, accompanists, and other professional musicians and resources. Our tuition is comparable to community choir programs, and we keep things simple: no additional fees for uniforms beyond standard concert black.
